Spine Poems

To celebrate the publication of Tracy Guzeman‘s book The Gravity of Birds she has blogged on the Waterstones blog and they are offering tickets to the Tate Britain for whoever comes up with the best “spine poem” and posts an image on twitter with the tag #GravitySpinePoem.

Spine poems are made from the titles of books placed in order and have been around for a little while, I’ve done a few in the past but never posted them online before.

Here’s my entry.

??????????

and in text only it reads:

the accidental
petals of blood
in a free state
twenty years after
the year of our war
the dark side of innocence

By-the-by if you’re on Twitter posting your spine poems, I’m @vclinde over there
