Twitter

I honestly and truly believe that Twitter is a great tool for poets.

Writers in general can often benefit from the connections of social media because otherwise we get trapped in our own heads and go crazy (crazier?). It does of course add a huge level of distraction and procrastination but I think the benefits outweigh the downsides.

Poets in particular should love Twitter, it’s concise and snappy, fast and to the point. If poetry is about taking an idea and distilling it down into its purest forms then Twitter does the same for social media connections.

For this week of short poetry I’m going to be trying to use Twitter more in line with the blog.

I’m @vclinde over there so do say hello if you’re a follower.
