Scraps from Bari Tea

And so the leaves
fall down – an autumn
swirl – crows flocking
to the harvest fields.
Then, watched, they form
into shapes, images,
prophesies and wonders,
clear in the mind’s eye.

Bari Tea is a shop, cafe and tea brewery in Alnwick. A favourite place in my favourite county. Here’s a poem written over a cup of Pai Mu Tan while watching the tea leaves in the bottom of the cup and trying to spot something of the future in them.
