Carried On

I posted a prompt using one line from my latest work in progress – a novel rather than a poem and invited people to write the next line. Now I’m sharing what I have written next along with the original line.

The sun was still high but the sky was getting dark, summer nights of bright light on rough waters stretched out into forever. Her eyes burned while she looked into the reflected sun rippling behind the rocks, the light broke each time a new wave crashed high and interrupted the line of sight out to the horizon.

If you’d like to see what others wrote after the line then take a look at the original prompt and read through the comments.

That’s two sentences. Now to write the rest of them!

    1. Thank you – I’ve got a long way to go but am about halfway through writing it now. Very strange to be writing something so much longer than my usual 20 lines or so!
