Here Lies Our Land

Kathleen Jamie has long been a favourite poet of mine. The list of her work that I admire would be far too long to write down. I thought I’d share a little bit from Here Lies Our Land. You can read the whole poem on the Scottish Poetry Library website, they also have other examples of her writing should you get the bug!

We are mere transients, who sing
Its westlin’ winds and fernie braes,
Northern lights and siller tides,
